Just thinking about a cold bath runs shiver down our spines. While cold water baths have benefits like lower cortisol levels, hot waters do help with lowering fatigue and pain of the muscles and generally feel much more relaxing.
They are much more preferred over their chilly counterparts, so people tend to desire ways to keep their swimming pools warm. Here are a few methods:
Sunlight
The cheapest way is the natural way. The heat from the sun itself is capable of warming up the water for you. It comes at no cost, and on a fairly warm day, you can expect no delay before you can hop into the pool. A swimming pool contractor will be able to help you design a pool that gets the most sunlight possible.
The biggest caveat is that maybe it could get too hot to be comfortable for use, so you might be better off putting a slight shade over it to keep it from turning into Mount Doom, Mordor. And this technique obviously doesn’t work at night.
Solar Water Heater
One of the cheapest and most power-efficient ways of heating the water in the pool is using a solar water heater. Using the solar panels attached to your roof, the heater will raise the water temperature in the pool, as the heater in your home operates with solar energy.

While this method is highly effective for saving costs and environmentally-friendly, it loses efficiency during overcast days. You may have reduced heating and become dependent on direct sunlight for this method.
In-ground Gas Heaters
Gas heaters get the job done the fastest. It doesn’t depend on any external source apart from gas so expect the water to be warm to your liking very quickly. They are relatively expensive because of the cost of the product as well as operational expenses.
But on an overcast day where you feel that urge to go for a quick swim to ease your mind and want it ASAP, a gas heater is the one to rely on to get the job done. Day or night, hot or cold outside, there’s no stopping this method.
